This privacy policy covers the use of the PureScreen — Screen Recorder & Webcam Chrome extension.

Summary

PureScreen does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. Everything happens locally on your device. There are no analytics, no tracking, no accounts, and no servers — the extension has no backend and makes no network requests with your data.

What the extension handles, and where it stays

All of the following is stored only on your device and never leaves it:

• Recordings (the video/audio you capture) are stored in your browser’s local storage (IndexedDB) so you can review, download, or delete them. They stay on your device until you delete them or remove the extension.
• Preferences (recording mode, selected microphone/camera, quality, countdown, webcam bubble position/size/shape, and similar settings) are stored via the browser’s local extension storage.
• Transient state used to start a recording is stored in session storage and cleared automatically.

PureScreen does not read your browsing history, the content of your web pages, or your tabs’ URLs.

Camera, microphone, and screen access

PureScreen requests access to your camera, microphone, and screen or tab only while you are recording, and only to produce your recording. This media is processed locally to create the recording file and is never sent anywhere.

Permissions

• offscreen — runs the recording engine in a background document so recording is reliable and can be saved continuously (crash recovery).
• storage / unlimitedStorage — save your settings and store recordings locally on your device (video files can be large).
• tabs — open and focus the extension’s own recorder page when you start a recording. It is not used to read other tabs.

Data retention and deletion

You are in full control. Delete individual recordings from the in-app Library at any time, or remove all extension data by uninstalling the extension.

Children’s privacy

PureScreen does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes

This privacy policy may change from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will be revised when it does.
